IMATS DAY 1

As I entered the IMATS entrance, and got my blue wristband (2 Day Pass), all I could feel was anticipation for what was waiting for me. This was my very first time to the IMATS and I wasn’t sure if the 14 hour flight to NYC was worth going all the way just to attend a make-up trade show.

A mini stage in the middle of the entrance had  students from various make-up school’s and academy’s competing for the Beauty/Fantasy Awards show. The students competing here @ the IMATS were already hand picked from the hundreds and thousands of International applicants all over the world. I was instantly blown away.

My 1st ten minutes had already compensated for the jet lag, and a very long sleepless 14 hour flight.

As I climbed up the stair case to the  2nd floor,I was taken back by the various exhibitors and the massive number of make-up obsessed enthusiasts. Almost every exhibitor particularly the OCC ( Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics), The Royal Brush company and INGLOT were so cramped it was almost impossible to go around and try their products. Before mid day, they even ran out of tissues !

The best part of my day was attending seminars by: Key Artist Roshar for YABY cosmetics:-Perfect Skin for Editorial, David Klasfeld the founder of OCC on Creating HD ready, Photo friendly skin. There was also a husband and wife team; Vargas and Anabel Vargas( two extremely talented make-up artists married to each other , wow!) Vargas blew me away with his 3D body painting techniques, and last but not least was the make-up demonstration by Lan  Nguyen,a key instructor at the AOFM academy in London.
